Cannot find network printer vista




















All of the documents have the same content. I even named and saved the document on the Vista. To capture this information, I had to turn off the printer and hold it in the Spooler. If the printer is connected directly to the Vista LT, it will work as a local printer so I know that the drivers are good.

This the second problem that I have of this type. I have a firends computer set up in a very similar manner and her's fails also. I have a HP G85 all in one and she is using a Lexmark all in one. We did get special drivers for her's from Lexmark. Vista supported the G85 and no additional drivers were needed.

I have 3 printers on my home metwork and they all fail in the same manner. Can you help me in this situation. This is the first problem that I have not been able to solve since entering the business 20 years ago. I have found nothing in the Tech forums addressing this. If anyone finds a fix, please drop me a line. I was told to go out and get a Windows machine ans set it up as a printe server.

I am assuming you are getting an error stating that the print driver for 64bit is not installed in the Vista machine. You can either install a 64bit driver that has the same name as the x86 print driver on the Win7 machine and reattempt the connection, install the 64bit driver that has the same name onto the Vista machine for other 64bit machines but this is more difficult. You can also configure the machine to check on Windows Update for a print driver that has the same name as the 32bit print driver.
