The intro showed normally, no black screen here. Then this is obviously a problem with the config file, at least one of the settings in there is causing the problem ; HoraceAndTheSpider I'm not sure if this config file is already updated somewhere or it's just incorrect?

It will be lucky to be able to cache even one disk. Every time WHDload needs to load from the hard disk it has to stop the game, save state, restore the OS and then read the disk image.

I can only think of three solutions. Both are very expensive solutions. Chaos Engine 2 has it's own HD installer? That is not what HOL says. Then make a bootable CD image.
