Those with large fingers might have an especially tough time trying to dial or text. On the CU, the volume rocker is on the right spine, as well as a multitasking key, and a camera shortcut key. The camera lens, flash, and self-portrait mirror sits on the back.
Features Unlike the original Shine, the Shine CU packs quite a bit punch when it comes to features. For the basics, the Shine CU has a nice 1,entry contacts list with room in each entry for two numbers, an e-mail address, and a memo. You can also assign a contact to any caller group, a photo for caller ID, or one of 10 polyphonic ringtones.
Other basic features include a vibrate mode, text and multimedia messaging, an alarm clock, a calculator, a memo pad, a calendar, a calculator, a tip calculator, a world clock, a tasks list, a stopwatch, a unit converter, a date finder, and a d-day counter. More advanced features include voice-command support, a wireless Web browser, a voice recorder, e-mail, instant messaging supports AOL, Windows Live, and Yahoo messaging services , a speakerphone, and stereo Bluetooth.
The music player has a fairly generic interface, with the typical player controls, a repeat and shuffle mode, and the ability to organize music with playlists and categories like albums and artists. The LG Shine comes with a microSD card slot, so adding more storage for music shouldn't be a problem. Included with the music bundle is Music ID a song identification service , XM Radio Mobile which streams satellite radio from XM if you have an account , the ability to stream music videos, a newsletter about the music industry from Billboard , and access to a music fan community.
It is definitely a fabulous camera, with great photo quality. Camera options include a range of resolutions, from 1,x1, to x pixels. Other camera settings include a self-timer, three quality modes, four color effects, white balance settings, shutter sounds, and a multishot mode. There's also an included camcorder that shoots videos in two resolutions x96 and x The camcorder's editing options are similar to the still camera; plus you can use the zoom.
Multimedia message video clips are limited to eight seconds, but otherwise you can shoot as much as available memory permits. Video quality wasn't great, but photo quality was fantastic, with sharp images, crisp detail, and rich colors. You can personalize the Shine in a number of ways. It comes with an array of wallpaper, color schemes, clock and calendar formats, and alert tones.
You can download more graphics and ringtones if you wish. I've now finished my detailed step by step howto on transferring music and pics between Shine and computer, including synchronising contacts. Please see this post. I'll get to answering the other questions as soon as I can. Just to emphasise, as you'll see from my new post, you need to make sure you've installed the modem drivers as well as the Sync software, or the software won't work. He used his Cingular sim card from his phone to make sure it was compatible,made a call,everything worked.
Any suggestions? Why would it no longer work? Sorry no idea Anon. It clearly worked in China I assume he used his SIM card there but maybe it's something to do with the networks in China and that that particular phone was set up to use the networks there but not the US networks?
Hmm interesting. I don't have an Orange SIM so have no experience of that, but if it's unlocked it should work on Orange. Anyone else? Pips - the only way I know of with the Shine is to use Zyb, and it'll cost - see this.
For instance, when I would attempt to send a picture message, all I would get is an error message stating that it was not able to send the message. I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I don't quite know what to do. I purchased an unlocked KE shine from the internet. I just got this lg shine and I want to transfer music from my computer to the phone but the device phone is not picking up. What do I need to do? Hi there.. Still though, I would like to get rid of everything t-mobile has installed to the phone web n walk, t-zones and replace it with the normal browser on the menu.. How can I do that? You will not be able to change the ring through the blue tooth - that's an operation of the bluetooth hardware; I've experienced that through multiple bluetooth devices on different phones.
How can i put it? It does, but the only thing that doesn't work is my multimedia. I can't send or recieve multimedia messages. Do you know how I can use my multimedia? This may sound stupid but i just got the LG shine and whenever i go to voicemail and try to delete a old message the phone doesnt recognize that im pushing a button.
