Update friendfeed from twitter

FriendFeed looks and feels a lot like Twitter, except it integrates all of your social activity in one place; you can even post to Twitter at the same time you post to FriendFeed. FriendFeed supports an impressively large group of social services. FriendFeed is laid out a lot like Twitter, but instead of showing just tweets, it collects everything you do online or at least everything you do on a connected service.

If you really like the FriendFeed interface, you can post updates to FriendFeed and Twitter simultaneously from your home page. It depends on what you want to get from an aggregator, and how much time you are willing to invest to get those results. Which Aggregator Is for You? After doing so, you have a choice. If, like me, you only update Facebook, but would like to keep track of people on Twitter and Facebook, then check the appropriate check boxes. You can send on all networks, receive on all networks, or on none of them, or whatever you choose.

Finally, you also can choose how often each service is polled similar to checking for new email every 15 or 30 minutes. But you can also update your status from within FireStatus. To do that, left-click the little FireStatus icon located in the Firefox status bar. In the past week the FriendFeed has added rooms or groups and and personalized recommendations.

Other updates include a FriendFeed feed revamp, highlighted comments of those that you subscribe to, along with a host of other fixes and minor updates. The latest update of Twhirl features a host of features that will help out a ton when Twitter starts going wonkers on you without warning. For Twitter, Twhirl has introduced auto throttling.

This feature allows Twhirl to automagically reduce your API requests per hour so that you get less timeout errors. You can also hide messages from previous sessions when you start a new one, search via Summize , XMPP support, a new color theme Orange Gray , Twhirl status message updates, and more.

On the FriendFeed side of things there have been more drastic improvements. For one, the trash icon actually works. The company also added the ability to pull in Disqus comments, Seesmic video posts and SlideShare items among others.

A number of bugs were also fixed more on those here. When we spoke to FriendFeed before their public launch last month the company made it clear that openness was a focus of its network. This stands in contrast to a network like Facebook which does not allow other sites to access the data that it publishes in your News Feed for example. Did you miss a featured session?
